It is a great show designed for a broad spectrum of people that integrates different performing arts events with a high visual component creating a magical atmosphere of fantasy through the support of the newest technology available in Cuba where dancers, models, circus performers and DJs give away a different approach according to the latest international trends in the scene.
Lugar: Calle 72, No. 4504, entre 41 y 45, Marianao, La Habana.
This is the original and still the leading Cabaret show in Cuba. The Tropicana, also known as “Paradise under the Stars”, opened in 1931 and continues to please audiences daily with its 200 musicians and dancers performing under the stars, in the shadow of a lush tropical backdrop. As you may expect, the costumes are mind-bogglingly extravagant, dancers writhing down tiers and dropping magically from the sky, the choreography flawlessly executed. The show starts around 10:00pm. You can order tickets by phone from 10:00am to 6:00pm or make a reservation with a travel agency in the lobby of one of the bigger hotels.
Lugar: Calle O, Esq. 21, Vedado
This is a venue for a great Cabaret show. It’s just as spectacular as the Tropicana, but on a smaller scale, making it more intimate and easier to see the dancers up-close. They have beautiful costumes and choreography and a wealth of talented dancers. The show starts at 9:00pm. After the Cabaret act at about midnight, there’s usually some kind of comedian and then a DJ, playing mostly techno. No need to hang around for that.
Lugar: Calle 20, Esq. 35, Miramar.
Is the predecessor to its namesake (Casa de la Musica Havana (Galiano)), Miramar maintains its reputation as a quality spot to catch Cuba’s most famous groups, as well as new up and coming talent. It is smaller than Casa de la Musica Havana (Galiano), so it can get a bit smoky.
Lugar: Galiano y Neptuno, Centro Habana
This is one of the most popular nightclubs in Havana. It always features some of the top bands from 10:00 pm until 2:00 am nightly. They also have a “matinee show” every day from 5:00 pm to 9:00pm. The “matinee show” also has special prices in Cuban Pesos making it more accessible for Cuban people.
